A "rescoring" of the film of the 1976 Winter Olympics --
Wakeman no longer has rights to his original soundtrack -- this is a solid mid-level entry in the
Wakeman catalog. Kicking off with some harder-rocking guitar than usual in "Oriental Iceman," this soundtrack reaches its high point with the deft "Dancing on Snowflakes." Die-hard
Wakeman fans will find much to like in this synth-driven collection of instrumentals, though those expecting a replacement for the original
White Rock will be disappointed -- it doesn't really measure up to its predecessor. Still, as the closer "Frost in Space" proves,
Wakeman hasn't lost his old love of punning titles.
