Bolivar

Bolivar

Artist

Bolivar started out his musical career in his local church, as the only boy together with forty girls in the children's gospel choir. As the only representative from his gender, he always got a significant role when plays were put up.
At the age of thirteen, he got his first guitar - an old Eko electrical one, and started out with House of the rising sun (taught to him by his father)and the Metallica ballads (his oldest sister's responsibility). He teamed up with Tor Magne Glidje and John Robert Mjåland, and have played with them ever since - in bands like Lengsel, Ganglion, Extol and Mantric. He's released eight full-length album with these bands, toured Europe and the U.S. numerous times with opening-acts for bands like Mastodon, Opeth and God Forbid, and was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy for the album "The Blueprint Dives" with Extol.
During all these years playing harder kinds of rock, Bolivar has also written music that didn't fit into any of these bands. Still creative, exploring music, but calmer and with more focus on melodies and different acoustic instruments.
In 2017, he decided it was time to take this side of his creativity a bit further, to find out where all these ideas and songs would end up when taking them to studio and let them unfold. He’s determined to record and release a great solo album, and constantly working on writing and refining material for this purpose. And don't miss out on Bolivar's lyrics - this is an artist with more than music on his heart. Sit down, relax, and take time to truly listen.
