Charly Brunner

Charly Brunner

Charly Brunner is one half of the Austrian schlager duo Brunner & Brunner. Born Karl Brunner on February 28, 1955, in Graz, Charly teamed up with his younger brother Johann "Jogl" Brunner (b. March 19, 1958 in Tamsweg, Austria). The duo first recorded under the name Happy and released their first album Tausend Träume in 1985, followed by Frei Wie der Wind in 1987 and Verbotene Träume der Nacht in 1989. In 1991, the band's manager changed their name to Brunner & Brunner, a moniker the duo kept for over a dozen further albums. When Brunner & Brunner appeared on the TV show Musikantenstadl in September 2009, they announced that they would disband in early 2010. After a hiatus of one-and-a-half years, Charly Brunner returned as a solo artist with the single "Was Immer Du Tust" in November 2011, followed by his first solo album, Ich Glaub' an die Liebe, in February 2012. ~ Christian Genzel
