British pianist
Edward Rushton attended Chetham's School of Music, where he concentrated on composition, and pursued further studies at King's College, Cambridge, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and the Zurich Conservatory, where he worked with
Irwin Gage.
Rushton has performed internationally as an accompanist for
Simon Wallfisch,
Juliane Banse,
Sybille Diethelm,
Katharina Hagopian, Jeannine Hirzel,
Yvonne Naef, Robin Adams,
Richard Burkhard, René Perler, and Jonathan Sells. He has also been active in chamber music, performing with the Harry White Trio.
Rushton teaches piano accompaniment at the Lucerne School of Music, and has recorded for BIS, Nimbus, Musiques Suisse, Guild, and other labels.
