Over the past 18 months London born Jacob Plant has been responsible for some of the most infectious club and festival tent bangers around. A string of singles on his own Shakedown Recordings label as well as for labels such as
Calvin Harris' Fly Eye and
Steve Aoki's Dim Mak has earned rewinds and spins from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Knife Party and many more.
Former BBC Introducing alumni Jacob caught his first big break in 2013 with 'Shakedown', a propulsive, melodic tune that
Calvin Harris released after he met the super-producer in LA. Almost immediately afterwards he headed back into the studio and emerged with follow up single, 'Fire', a tune that moved his style on even further from 'Shakedown', with an even harder, breathlessly confident beat. The tune got early spins from Rob Swire of Knife Party and Zane Lowe also played it twice in a row on his influential Radio 1 show, where he also announced he'd be spinning the tune in Ibiza the next night.
Jacob Plant began 2014 with another EP, titled Louder, which saw release on legendary DJ/ producer
Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label, who Jacob describes as a great supporter of his music to date. Aoki also used 'Louder' for his tour video soundtrack and played the tune heavily in shows.
Jacob also recently made his own USA debut, miles from home at Chicago's huge Lollapalooza festival. It's quite the spot for an introductory set but nothing fazes Jacob Plant, who is in the midst of a truly meteoric rise to the very top of the Dance music pile.
