The country producer James Stroud played drums for the 80s country rock group the Snakes. They cut ‘Pay Bo Diddley’ with Bo Diddley himself - sample lyric: ‘You all may laugh but it just ain’t funny, Whatever happened to Bo Diddley’s money?’. Stroud produced US country number 1 hits for S-K-O (‘Baby’s Got A New Baby’) and the Forester Sisters (‘You Again’). In 1989 he produced Clint Black’s album Killin’ Time, and he has remained with Black since then. He owns Giant Records and one of his artists is Clay Walker. In 1996, he produced US country hits for Tim McGraw, Doug Stone, John Anderson and Lorrie Morgan.
