King Gnu

Japanese rock band King Gnu was formed in 2017 by members of the band Srv.Vinci, which had been active from 2013. Band leader Tsuneta Daiki had been studying cello at the Tokyo College of Arts, and Iguchi Satoru was a vocal student there. They left the college to launch King Gnu and released their debut album 'Tokyo Rendez-Vous' in 2017. It reached number 46 in the Oricon Albums Chart. From this album, the single 'Vinyl' was the most popular, with over two million streams online. King Gnu took part in several live concerts in Tokyo to publicise the release of 'Tokyo Rendez-Vous'. Their next album release was in 2019, with 'Sympa' which reached number four in the Oricon Albums Chart. The single 'Prayer X' was pre-released from the album in 2018 and reached number 36 in the Oricon Singles Chart. Other popular tracks on the album included 'Slumberland' and 'Sorrows'. In 2019, King Gnu released the singles 'Hikoutei' and 'White Day' as digital downloads. © ©Copyright Music Story 2020
