Danish singer/songwriter
Lise Westzynthus was a member of bands such as
Rhonda Harris and Luksus before striking out on her own in 2002 with her solo debut, Heavy Dream. The album earned her much critical acclaim in her homeland, including nominations in that year's Danish Music Awards. For her follow-up,
Westzynthus worked with producer
Ian Caple -- who also produced albums by
Tricky and
Tindersticks -- and helped finance the project by selling a chandelier that her late grandmother left to her. The results were her 2006 album,
Rock, You Can Fly, which was released by One Little Indian. ~ Heather Phares
