Marc Hervieux

Marc Hervieux

Marc Hervieux has made a name for himself as a popular opera tenor, appearing on stages throughout his native Canada, Europe, and beyond, but his recordings reflect his broader interests.
Hervieux received numerous scholarships and prizes as a student, and studied in Montréal and at the Florida Grand Opera Young Artists Studio. He has sung opera from Quebec to Seoul, for King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden, and at New York's Metropolitan Opera. His choral appearances include singing Haydn in Taipei and Beethoven in Montréal. Yet given all the purely Classical music he has performed, his recordings have focused on more popular fare: Neapolitan songs, Christmas music, and vocal standards. Hervieux has done his share of musicals -- Starmania, The Man of La Mancha, Hair, and A Little Night Music -- so it's no surprise that he is comfortable in both spheres of music. His audiences seem to appreciate his talent in any arena.
