The award-winning singer
Márcia has performed with names like
Baden Powell,
Vinícius de Moraes, Eduardo Gudin, and
Paulo César Pinheiro, having launched
Johnny Alf's "Eu e a Brisa." She was the crooner of
Erlon Chaves' orchestra. In 1958, she was hired by TV Tupi and, two years later, moved to Porto Alegre, where she worked in radio. In that period, she won several awards as best singer in radio and TV. Returning to São Paulo, she continued to perform and, in 1965, won the Berimbau de Ouro award for her performance at the I FMPB with "Miss Biquíni." In 1967, she presented
Johnny Alf's "Eu e a Brisa" (later one of her biggest hits) at the I FMPB. Her first LP,
Eu e a Brisa, came out in 1968. In 1972, she performed several times in Portugal with
Vinícius de Moraes and
Baden Powell. In 1974, together with Eduardo Gudin and
Paulo César Pinheiro, she had durable success on the CD O Importante é Que a Nossa Emoção Sobreviva, which was repeated in 1996 with Tudo o Que Mais Nos Uniu. ~ Alvaro Neder
