María del Monte

A native of Spain, singer Maria del Monte -- the self-styled "Queen of the Sevillanas" -- first emerged during the late 1980s, scoring a major European hit with the song "Cantame." Her sophomore LP, Besos de Luna, sold over 100,000 copies in just four days; other recordings included 1998's Digan Lo Que Digan. ~ Jason Ankeny
