Miguel Hernández

Miguel Hernández

Spanish poet

Miguel Hernández is a Texas-based singer/songwriter whose polished Latin sound incorporates a dancefloor-ready fusion of tejano, ranchera, and cumbia. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he learned how to play the guitar as a teenager and, after performing with artists including Jimmy Gonzales, Patsy Torres, and Stefani Montiel, released his self-titled debut album in 2004. Sophomore album Despues de Mucho followed in 2006, and after several years of taking a back-seat role, playing with the likes of Ricardo Castillón and Jay Perez, he returned to the spotlight in 2010 with his third studio effort, Life in Lyric. © Jon O'Brien /TiVo
