Artist

Nowhere (stylized as the affirmative "nowHere") combines the talents of spoken word vocalist Trey Hales and instrumentalist Anays Torres (of My Iron Lung). Not quite rap, not totally slam poetry, Nowhere's music aims for poignancy, with Hales' tales woven over Torres' layered sonics. A native of Portland, Oregon, Hales originally started out as Trey the Ruler in 2012, performing spoken word throughout the Pacific Northwest. He released the debut Nowhere EP, Hell Is Under My Hair, in late 2013. In early 2015, preview tracks for the first LP were released on the EP It's All Down Hell from Here. That debut full-length, Hell Knows I'm Miserable Now (Equal Vision), was released later that year, featuring the singles "You're Welcome" and "Eight Ball God." ~ Neil Z. Yeung
