Robert Clary

Robert Clary

Most know Robert Clary as LeBeau, the dogged French Resistance fighter on Hogan's Heroes, the prisoner-of-war sitcom that has aged about as well as camembert placed in a heating vent. Your hip elders, however, know Clary as a swingin', jazz-tinged Cabaret act whose heavily accented scat lines were even swankier than the Playboy clubs in which he sang. While the days of beehived bar maidens in miniskirts are long gone, Clary remains at the top of his game -- like Bobby Short and Maurice Chevalier going for the gold in the first male synchronized swimming contest.
