X Ray

Artist, Contributor

One of the dopest producers in underground hip-hop, X-Ray came up in the late eighties, deejaying, rhyming and making beats with a variety of crews in and around Long Island. He collaborated with a wide variety of artists, including members of Public Enemy, Sugar Bear and Legion of D.U.M.E. In the mid-nineties, as a member of the group Darc Mind, he landed a deal on Loud Records, resulting in a rare 12-inch single and some soundtrack work. He also produced several tracks for MF Doom, he was just then re-appearing through Bobbito's Fondle 'Em label. Down with the Monsta Island Czars, (he was known as King Ceasar), he provided the searing beatscapes for much of their debut LP Escape From Monsta Island!, as well as solo albums from Rodan and Megalon. X-Ray also runs his own studio and label Mindbenda Recordings, releasing projects from Ray Long, Kwite Def and Uppa Noch, among others.
