The self-proclaimed originator of the Woah, rapper
10k.Caash undoubtedly played a major role in the popularity of the dance craze in 2018. He capitalized on his newfound fame with a
Def Jam deal that led to
The Creator, his major-label debut, released the following year.
Treyvon Britt, known as
10k.Caash, is a native of Dallas' Oak Cliff neighborhood. Part of local dance crew the Rollie Bros, he achieved social media fame separately in 2018 with the popularity of the Woah, a bona fide craze, by the end of that year. Also in 2018,
10k.Caash released his first rowdy, irreverent tracks and was featured with
G.U.N and
FKi 1st on Good Gas' "On Go Freestyle," issued on the Mad Decent label. After he and
G.U.N (aka
GUN40) signed solo deals with
Def Jam, the label commercially released their brief, brash "Aloha" in March 2019, and quickly followed it with another duo recording, "Geek It Up."
10k.Caash's full-length debut,
The Creator, was out that May, featuring appearances from
Lil Yachty,
Famous Dex, and
Rico Nasty. Planet Swajjur arrived early the next year and boasted guest spots from Sexton,
TyFontaine, Young Jordan,
Zoey Dollaz, and
TisaKorean, with the Freshman Year mixtape and the single "Whatchu Du" arriving just months later. ~ Andy Kellman
