Ackboo, the most well-known composer and producer of the Dub scene from South France, returns with a brand new effort.
After 2 successful albums, 6 vinyl LPs and tons of singles, Ackboo became 100% independant in 2017. Leaving the labels and classic managers to engage in the perilous adventure of independence, he demonstrated the relevance of his choice by a superb tour. Above all, the craze has continued to grow around this beatmaker, hitherto well known in the underground.
Always ready to share his travels and his musical productions with his thousands of fans, he has federated around him a crowd of enthusiasts. These fans from all over the world even managed to raise € 12,000 for the release of PHARAOH: fully funded through a crowdfunding campaign. A proof of support if it is for an increasingly wide audience waiting for June 15th impatiently! And it must be said that the first excerpts posted on Instagram have created a wait: a mix of reggae-dub-trap audacious and singular voices...
Referring to his Egyptian roots, Pharaoh is the freest album that Ackboo has released. All his influences are represented: Reggae, Dub, Hip-Hop, Electro and Trap. Faithful to his constant search for renewal, Ackboo flourishes in this opus and pushes his musical experiments further than ever before.
We discover 12 tracks, each of which is a facet of his vibrant universe, sublimated by 10 singers. Let's be carried away by Pauline Diamond (Biga*Ranx singer) and Green Cross on First Sight: Soul tones with a dose of Ragga carried by a warm Trap rhythm.
On the side of the new Spanish Reggae scene we explore Goodness with Sr. Wilson and his precise flow to Joseph Cotton while Lasai reminds Gentleman about Me Nuh Loaf.
For the French who have pride of place: the veteran of the Sound System scene of the South of France, Dapatch, revives the voice of the Golden Age of the Jamaican Deejays on Give Me A Hand. In From All Men Apart, Ras Hassen Ti, one of the few French Rastas truly steeped in Ethiopian culture, lays his voice on a pure Roots sound. An eclectic and high-end selection!
Patate Records, historical figure of Reggae for 25 years will ensure the international distribution of vinyl.
Endowed with an uncompromising artistic vision, Ackboo releases a striking, brilliant and audacious album for which several clips are already in the making ...
