Italian guitar player and composer based in trieste, italia, born in trieste on 10/4/1965, he bagan studying classical guitar at the age of eleven under the guidance of masters guido percacci and pierluigi corona. After having performed an intense activity as a classical guitarist, since 1990 he has dedicated himself to jazz, to contemporary music, to experimentation and expecially to creative improvisation. He works in the field between experimental jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music drawing from a wide range of influences. He spans from free jazz to textural soundwork to noise to contemporary classical music, he works on exploring the natural rawness of his instrument and dives in to experimenting on what the guitar is capable of in sound and expression, with and without preparation. Among the many italian and american teachers he studyed whit, there are very different stylists like joe pass, kenny burrell, mike stern, bruce forman, stefano battaglia, sandro gibellini, alessio menconi, pietro condorelli, rory stuart, mark elf. In 1997 he won one of the most important european competition for jazz guitarists, that of monteroduni (IS) titled eddie lang. Partecipate and win numerous italian competitions. He has been voted several times among the best italian guitarists in the top jazz classifications on the italian jazz music magazines. Since 1998 he has been touring widely whit his own groups and as a side person in Europe (Austria, Germany, France, Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland, Holland) at important festivals. He has led several groups over the years and has recorded over 20 records as a leader or co-leader for different labels, notably Artesuono, Leo Records, Setola di maiale, Amirani. He has made several radio broadcasts for RAI, Radio Capodistria, Canadian National Radio, Radio France, numerous private Italian and European radio stations. He has an intensive didactic activity holding seminars and workshops throughout Italy. He has an intense concert activity in Italy and abroad both as a leader and as a guest in various groups. He has collaborated and still collaborates with numerous musicians including Butch Morris, Evan Parker, Paul Lytton, Barre Phillips, Oliver Lake, Rob Mazurek, Sylvie Courvoiseur, Tom Rainey, Bruce Ditmas, Mat Maneri, Clementine Gasser, Angelica Castelo, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Howard Curtis, Katja Cruz, Giovanni Maier, Danilo Gallo, Michele Rabbia, Pasquale Mirra, Walter Prati, Cristiano Calcagnile, Stefano Battaglia, Ernie Adams, Dee Alexander, Giovanni Mancuso, Massimiliano Furia, Ettore Fioravanti, Paolo Birro, Rosario Bonaccorso, Zeno DeRossi, Achille Succi, Olivier Manoury, Silvia Bolognesi, Ernest Dawkins, Arrigo Cappelletti, Dado Moroni, Bruno Marini, Flavio Boltro, Francesco Bearzatti, Alessandro Fedrigo, Stefano Senni, Ferdinando Farao', Mauro Negri, Gianni Basso, Robert Bonisolo, Kyle Gregory, Lee Brown, Jack McDuff, Bobby Durham, Glauco Venier, Slatko Kaucic, Dario Deidda, Aldo Zunino, Mark Abrams, Emanuele Cisi, Daniele D'Agaro and many others. He teaches jazz guitar at the conservatory "B. Marcello" of Venice.
