The German rapper Azzi Memo arrived in Germany as an asylum seeker from Turkey and was brought up by his Kurdish parents in Hanau.After leaving school he became a shop assistant and was encouraged by his family and friends to pursue his musical interests. Memo began uploading videos on YouTube and slowly his popularity began to grow until eventually he was signed to the Generation Azzlak rap stable.2017 was a pivotal year for the young rapper: his debut album 'Trap 'n' Haus' was released in the spring and reached number 31 in the German charts and later in the year his single 'AMG2', featuring fellow rapper Eno made it into the top ten.The success of 'AMG2' began to establish Memo's appeal to a wider German audience and his second album 'Surf 'n' Turf' became a top 20 hit in late 2018.
