Alto saxophonist Brad Leali has played with Harry Connick, Jr., the Count Basie Orchestra and others in addition to leading his own combo, which treads closer to Soul Jazz territory. His bittersweet tone has a bluesy, Texan quality to it. While his elegantly phrased ballad playing stands out, his classy testimonials on more upbeat numbers are also superb.
