Guatemalan based synth-pop duo.
Luis Alonso and Sebas Méndez, former members of the surf rock band Los Tiros, gathered together to create a sound that blends synthesizers and live drums with chiptune (videogame music).
One of the most recognized characteristics of the band is the use of acoustic drums, which sets the rhythmic base and fuels the songs with energy, while the synthesizers lead the melody with nostalgia and melancholy.
“Giant Ghosts”, the band’s first album, includes 7 tracks, that transport the listener to an action video game full of nostalgia.
The first two singles have videos on YouTube: “305092 Years” and “Giants”.
“Giants” received a strong positive review for showing a unique sound in Central America and for visually complementing the song very well.
At the beginning of 2018 the duo presented “Uh La Live EP”, a live EP with two songs recorded in a totally live session, where they included a cover song of The Cure’s ”Close To Me”, being the band’s first vocalized song.
