Formed from the remnants of their previous outfit, Lil Daggers,
Heavy Drag are a Miami-based bummer rock quartet with a grungy, psych-influenced sound. Andreas Wong Chong (guitar, vocals), Jacob Israel (guitar), Michael Ruiz-Unger (bass, vocals), and Andres Bedoya made their debut as
Heavy Drag in late 2014 with the single "LSD" on Buddyhead Records. They expanded on their weighty, shoegazey new sound in 2015 with the four-song Wood Sessions EP on Limited Fanfare Records. Working with Ryan Haft (
Torche,
WRONG), they recorded their debut album,
Sábana Ghost, which arrived in the summer of 2016. ~ Timothy Monger
