Josh Todd

lead singer of Buckcherry

* En anglais uniquement

Josh Todd is best known as the frontman for Buckcherry, the proudly sleazy Hollywood hard rockers who scored a big hit in 1999 with "Lit Up." Buckcherry kept going in fits and starts for the next two decades, with Todd stepping away from the group for acting roles and solo projects, including his 2017 band Josh Todd & the Conflict.
Born Joshua Todd Gruber in Los Angeles on April 4, 1970, Todd spent his childhood in various parts of Southern California, attending high school in Orange County. His first band of note was the glam outfit Slamhound, who recorded but never released an album for Skydoor. Todd met guitarist Keith Nelson through their mutual tattoo artist in 1995, and the two quickly formed Sparrow, which mutated into Buckcherry.
Buckcherry released an eponymous debut in 1999 and it blew up thanks to the hit "Lit Up." Time Bomb, the 2001 sequel, didn't perform as well and the band splintered in 2002. Todd released his first solo album, You Made Me, in 2003. Two years later, Todd and Nelson formed a new lineup of Buckcherry and this one turned out to be relatively stable, touring regularly and releasing albums every two or three years.
Although Buckcherry remained active, Todd would occasionally step away from the band. In particular, he acted, appearing in The Salton Sea (2002), The Still Life (2006), and Eagle Eye (2008).
Todd formed a second band, Josh Todd & the Conflict, with Buckcherry guitarist Stevie D. in 2017; Sean Winchester and Gregg Cash rounded out the lineup. The band released their debut, Year of the Tiger, in September of that year. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
