This Japanese child prodigy and virtuoso guitarist first came to prominence after winning a national competition for guitarists at the age of 14. Resembling a Japanese version of Elvis Costello, his mastery of the fretboard was quite astonishing. After a low-key mini-album of mainly Japanese-style instrumentals, he teamed up with ex-Cream bass player Jack Bruce and Frehley’s Comet’s drummer Anton Fig. This association recorded as a power-trio, playing Cream classics and avant garde, blues-based rock, fused with Japanese classical pieces.
