A thriving artist from San Francisco CA, Messy Marv was raised in the Marcus Garvey Housing Projects on Eddy Street in "Fillmore" The Western Addition. Messy Marv has overcome many hardships, but was placed in the heart of Independent Music production, giving him the leverage to become the artist he is today. Releasing his debut album in 1995, Messy Marv aimed to state true facts of a Ghetto Lifestyle, quickly making his album an underground classic, and leaving his listeners begging for more.
Multiple artist receiving major publicity in the mainstream eye, Messy Marv reached out to Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Keyshia Cole (a native of Oakland Ca.) to bless some tracks with her vocals. Meshing together, the powerful emotion filled voice of the young singer, along with the raspy, low voice of Messy Marv, they pieced together Masterpieces. Keyshia Cole still to this day is making history for the SF Bay Area.
There have been many great accomplishments for the 20+ career of Messy Marv, being a two-time winner of the 2006 B.A.R.S (Bay Area Rap Scene) Awards, bringing home trophies for his group project, with fellow San Francisco Artist “Guce” on Bullys Wit Fullys “The Infrastructure", as well as the “Boss of the Bay” an Award granted for “Outstanding Contribution and Dedication to the Game” and being the biggest Artist in the region. In 2008, Messy Marv brought home the Award for “Best West Coast Artist of the Year” at the West Coast Hip-Hop Awards. Throughout the years, Messy Marv has landed covers of well-known publications including: Murder Dog Magazine, Ozone Magazine, Showcase Magazine, Explosive Magazine, HoodStar Magazine, and Stash Magazine. Not to mention, appearances in XXL Magazine, The Source Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Bay Guardian.

What would a story of such large triumph be without tragedy, loss and setbacks? Having several run ins with the law, Messy Marv has been charged with multiple crimes. Three in particular, Weapon Possessions and has had to do several stints in jail. Overcoming real life travesties, and conquering personal demons, gave him strong persona that pushes him that much harder to become the success he is today. Messy Marv currently owns and operates his own label Cash Out Records for "Champland LLC" which roster boast not just a talent of himself but the most anticipated Gangster Rap Group since N.W.A, "Blap Squad".
