Oliver Triendl is a German pianist who specializes in little-known repertoire. He studied under Rainer Fuchs, Karl-Heinz Diehl, Eckart Besch,
Gerhard Oppitz, and
Oleg Maisenberg. He has performed as a recitalist and concerto soloist in Europe, North America, South America, South Africa, Russia, Japan, and China.
Triendl has appeared with many orchestras, including the
Munich Philharmonic, the
Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne, the
Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the
Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the
Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the
Sinfonia Varsovia, the
Polish Chamber Philharmonic, the
Georgian Chamber Orchestra, and the St. Petersburg Camerata. As a chamber musician, he has performed with
Christian Altenburger,
Wolfgang Boettcher,
Thomas Brandis,
Eduard Brunner,
James Ehnes,
David Geringas,
Sharon Kam,
Paul Meyer,
Sabine Meyer,
Gustav Rivinius,
Tanja Tetzlaff, and
Jürg Widmann. He has also performed with the
Keller String Quartet,
Sine Nomine, and the
Vogler String Quartet. In 2006,
Triendl founded the Classix Kempten International Chamber Music Festival in Bavaria's Allgäu region.
