A native of Palo Alto, California, conductor Rebecca Miller is the daughter of flutist Leta Miller and the spouse of British pianist Danny Driver. Miller earned her bachelor's degree in piano at Oberlin Conservatory, and she continued her studies at Northwestern University, where she received her master's degree in conducting. She was the Paul Woodhouse Junior Fellow in Conducting at the Royal College of Music, and in 1999 she founded the New Professionals Orchestra in London. As the winner of the fourth Eduardo Mata Conducting Competition, Miller served as the American Conducting Fellow with the Houston Symphony Orchestra from 2005 to 2007, and she was the resident conductor of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra from 2007 to 2010. She has conducted the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Sinfonietta, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the London Mozart Players, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, among many other ensembles. Miller is the music director of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Choral Society and Orchestra, and she is the director of orchestras at the Royal Holloway University of London, as well as the associate conductor of the Southbank Sinfonia. She has recorded for Signum Classics, Hyperion, New World Records, Mode, and Dutton Epoch.
