Sudden Death were a comedy rap trio formed in New Jersey, USA in 1986 and were comprised of Tom Rockwell (aka Devo Spice), Steve Fernino (aka Piles) and Thom Uliasz (aka Professor Pastronamy). They have etched themselves into the culture of US comedy and novelty songs by being voted number one no less than three times by American radio broadcaster Barry Hansen in his annual round-up of US comedy songs. Hansen is better known by his professional alter ego Dr. Demento.The band announced their retirement in 2008 and all their subsequent releases have been credited as solo performances by Rockwell's stage persona Devo Spice.
