Sweetpea’s journey since moving to London in 2010 has been one of constant growth and progress. She’s been an inspiration to all sorts of womxn within electronic music in general. Sweetpea is undoubtedly one of the scene’s current leading ladies: having hosted radio shows on legendary stations, released her productions on various labels, played major clubs and festivals around the world, as well as joined forces with other iconic women in D&B to launch an exclusive, inclusive and educational community known as EQ50.
Over the course of the last ten years, Sweetpea has gone from her humble beginnings as a very passionate dj on London underground stations such as Origin UK and Rude FM to her current bi-weekly show on the world-renowned Bassdrive.com. Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month She brings you a two-hour show filled with some of the best up and coming releases, classic jams, plus her own favourite tunes of each month. Whenever anyone needs a proper D&B fix, Sweetpea is guaranteed to satiate their musical appetite.
Her first release on Terabyte Records in 2016 further established her place within drum and bass as an artist. Not only can she throw down on the decks, but she can throw her own productions into the mix; something many people feel is a must in today’s scene. Since then, she has released collaborative and solo works on Dispatch, Addictive Behaviour, Skeleton and Med School working with fellow producer/djs Wreckless and Sicknote. Forthcoming on Spearhead Records is her first solo EP, featuring legendary MC Chickaboo and Shady Novelle.
This queen has also developed an incredible knack for curating live sets. Having taken her years of radio experience (7 impressive years hosting a weekly show on Rude FM!) she’s able to prepare, adjust and follow her audience in order to give them more of what they want each set. This powerful womxn has been booked to play popular events in the UK such as AKO, Sine Series, Flexout, Symmetry, Rupture, Soul in Motion, Hospital, Med School and the main room at the legendary club Fabric for Spearhead as well.
