The Frantics

The Frantics

50s/60s rockabilly group from Seattle, a.k.a. The Four Frantics

This Psychedelic sextet from the mid-1960s left behind nearly nothing of their history except for twelve outstanding songs that showcase their cloudy visions of analogue synthesized Baroque Pop and fuzzed out blues/Punk-tinged freakbeat. The singer's bipolar schizophrenic singing styles pan from minstrel-like medieval narratives to nitty-gritty Jagger-esque drawls and Arthur Lee-like attitudes. The band operated under the influence of probably everything that was available at the time. Their instrumental space jams seem to be held together by an oxygen-depleted Farfisa organ player who knows when to keep it together and when to let it all fall apart at the seams. Perfect music for growing a groovy hair-helmet to.
