Fronted by singer songwriter Mark Frith, The Troubadours found fame in 2007 when legendary producer John Leckie - the man behind some of the great records by Stone Roses, Pink Floyd and Radiohead - starting working with them and produced their hits Gimme Love and Here Comes The Tide. Known as "the human jukebox" due to his ability to recall and play a song after one hearing, Wigan-born Frith formed The Troubadours in 2005 with guitarist Johnny Molyneux, adding Tony Ferguson on bass and Elmo Watts on drums. They achieved a devoted following on tours with The Enemy and Paul Weller, who called Frith a "classic British songwriter" while Leckie described him as "the best songwriter I've worked with in ten years." Molyneux left in 2008 and was replaced by Robbie Taylor, but the band split soon afterwards. However, they reformed in 2011 and continued to enjoy popularity with their attractive mix of rockabilly, blues and folk and in 2014 released a new EP Deep Devotion.
