Scotland-based indie pop ensemble
Zoey Van Goey formed in Glasgow in 2006. Featuring the talents of keyboardist/vocalist
Kim Moore, guitarist
Michael John McCarthy, and drummer
Matt Brennan, the band released the single "Foxtrot Vandals," produced by
Belle & Sebastian's
Stuart Murdoch, in 2007. The follow-up single, "Sweethearts in Disguise," with production from
the Delgados'
Paul Savage, followed a year later. In 2009, the band released its full-length debut, the
Savage-produced
The Cage Was Unlocked All Along, which saw re-release on Chemikal Underground in 2010. That same year, bassist
Adam Scott joined the band. In 2011,
Zoey Van Goey released their sophomore effort,
